Moe's Original BBQ - Atlanta, GA

It is a beautiful fall day in Atlanta, GA and the siren song of BBQ was calling my name. Beware of the rocks Odysseus, because my quest for a new Q joint left me marooned.

I had a BBQ itch and this pedestrian pork house on 14th Street in Atlanta just barely scratched it. Don't get me wrong, if you are in the neighborhood or work in the area, this is a fine Q joint. It is just not worth a special trip, well because....it is nothing special.

I love the decor and the daily changing sides is a nice touch, but pork chili? The pork chili is ok, but sometimes when you buck the trend, you fall off your horse. What did Brunswick stew ever do to you Moe? The tomato cucumber salad was perfect, but the mac & cheese was the pits. The cornbread was moist and delicious, but no one is driving very far for cornbread.

To be fair, my previous visits to Moe's resulted in better pork, but completely unsolicited my wife looked and me today and said "this pork is pretty middlin'."

OVERALL: 🕷 (hit or miss)

Pork: 🐷(plain jane)
